Emmy’s story

I have always loved to cook and bake, but when my two younger cousins, Brayden and Riley, were born in 2014 and 2015, I started a tradition of making them their birthday cakes each year. I’d have them choose their themes and then bring them to the big family party, where they’d usually be raved about. I’d often be asked, “why don’t you make this a business?” and while the thought was tempting, it remained a hobby.

In 2024, when a co worker paid me to make her a birthday cake, I decided to take the leap and advertise my skills on instagram. Through friends and family, I’ve been able to build a small business.

My full time job is an elementary school teacher and my full name is Emily. But thanks to Brayden and Riley, who have called me “Emmy” their whole lives, Emmy’s Cakes & Bakery is now in business.
